Girls on the Run of Gaston County

learn. dream. live. run.

...Changing the world, one girl at a time.

Welcome to
Girls on the Run of Gaston County - a life-changing, character development program for 3rd-8th grade  girls. Our mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. To accomplish this we use exercise, positive reinforcement, and encouraging role models to provide girls with the confidence they need in those critical pre-teen years.

Our 12-week programs meet twice per week after school on campuses throughout Gaston County. Each 90 minute lesson combines running and walking games with various life skills, including healthy eating, leadership, goal setting, cooperation and other age-appropriate topics. All of this is possible through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff and the community.

Each season concludes with with a 5K (3.1 miles) running event and celebration of our girls' accomplishments.

Girls on the Run of Gaston County is a part of Girls on the Run International
which has a network of over 160 locations across the United States and Canada. GOTR of Gaston County is an affiliate council of the Gaston County Health Department. Girls on the Run of Gaston County is grateful for the tremendous support provided by our Program Sponsor CaroMont Health
.
