More about Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is a life-changing character development program for girls grades 3-8 that uses running to teach values and a sense of self. The program combines training to participate in a non-competitive 3.1 mile running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts and a community service project. The goal of the program is to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development. Furthermore, we encourage participants to talk with parents/caretakers, with their peers, and within themselves. The 24-lesson-plan curriculum attempts to change a girl's budding notion that how she looks is more important than who she is.

“I never knew that when I started in this program, I would be able to run this far.” - Imani

"...it was thrilling to watch my daughter cross the finish line and for her, a great accomplishment. Her coaches have been superb. I was struck by the encouragement the girls were giving each other during the 5K race today, so doubt influenced by the coursework provided to the girls and the quality of the coaches. What a tremendous experience for us as parents and our daughter as a participant. No doub, one of life's experiences for our young daughter that will never be forgotten." Girls on Track® uses the Girls on the Run® model, but focuses on issues of importance to girls in 6th-8th grades. GOT provides all the elements of GOTR and addresses the middle school experience.
