This timed run/walk event is open to the public! Join hundreds of fall participants as they celebrate the culmination of their 10 week season.
All proceeds from the 5k benefit Girls on the Run of Gaston County. These funds will enable our council to continue making the program available to all girls regardless of their families' financial circumstances.
Pre-race festivities begin at 7:30am in Stowe Park. In addition to the race, family members can enjoy music from DJ Buddy Love, Happy Hair Station sponsored by Great Clips, Photo Stop/Selfie Station, Mean Stinks/Inspiration Station sponsored by Katie Hipps, Jamberry, refreshments sponsored by CaroMont Health and Chick-Fil-A.
After the race, return to Stowe Park for 5k Race Awards and the No Fizz Challenge drawing.

All girls and coaches who are currently participating in the Fall 2014 season are automatically registered. Head coaches will distribute race bibs in Stowe Park prior to the race. Volunteers will distribute 5k t-shirts to girls and coaches at the race finish.
Other participants can avoid race morning congestion by picking up t-shirts and race bibs at Walk and Run Belmont, 200 N. Main St. from 12-6pm on Thurs., Dec. 4th or 10am-6pm on Fri., Dec. 5th.
Packets can also be picked up at the race beginning at 7:30am.
The race begins on Main Street near the Belmont General Store. Race participants will enjoy charming homes and unique storefronts as they run through downtown Belmont. The course will end at picturesque Stowe Park.

Our spectators and participants’ safety is our primary concern. We will closely monitor the weather forecast for race weekend, but due to rapidly changing weather conditions, we may not be able to make any decision regarding the race until Saturday morning.
Below are the steps we will follow if the threat of bad weather occurs prior to 8:30 a.m. race start:
The event will occur rain or shine, but below are the steps if there is a risk of thundershowers or accumulating snow showers:
Should a storm come about while the runners are out on the race course, they should all seek coverage along the race course. Once the storm has passed, runners should return directly to the race start/finish line.
The Belmont Police Department will be on site and along the race course to coordinate efforts in an emergency should arise.
